Switchmode rectifiers are the state of the art of rectifiers available on the market today. These rack mountable rectifiers pack a lot of power into a compact space. Typically a 1,000A 12Vdc unit would be no larger than a large microwave while a 500A unit would be about the size of a computer high tower lying on it's side. And as bonus, it usually comes pre-loaded with options that cost a small fortune on standard SCR type rectifiers. These include programmable Ampere-Hour Counters, output ramps and digital displays.
